We are leaving Washington, D.C. and we could not convince our nanny for the last 6 years to relocate with us. It was not for lack of trying on our part. We have been incredibly fortunate to have our nanny, Jessica, care for our three children from infancy. People from our childrens’ school often stop us to let us know how wonderful she is with our kids and their teachers always mention to us how skilled she is with the kids. Everyone who sees her with the children is incredibly impressed with her. Yet, this is no surprise to us. We are well-aware of how bright, skilled, and caring she is. She has an amazing amount of common sense. Some people have an innate ability to understand children – she is one of them. We are incredibly thankful to have had her for all these years. Our children are content, safe, and cared for well. Jessica is reliable and hardworking. She arrived at our home promptly. In the six years she worked for us I can count on one hand how many times she was out sick. She took vacation once. Not only is Jessica an experienced breastfeeding mother she is experienced with mothers who breastfeed. She helped my infants transition to bottles of pumped milk while I was at work and when I was home she brought them to me for breastfeedings. She coordinated feedings with me so that I was never off schedule from my babies’ feeding. She is terrific with potty training. All of our kids were using the potty by about 16 to 18 months and fully potty trained (through the night) when they were two years old. She never relied on a pacifier to quiet or comfort them. She taught them how to get dressed, brush their teeth, drink from a cup, feed themselves, ride a tricycle, and so much more. She has skillfully assisted with physical therapy and speech development. The bottom line is that she will respect your wishes as to how you want your children raised because she understands they are yours and how you want them raised is your decision. She is committed to remaining in the D.C. area. She would like to find a family with young children, preferably infants or babies. She likes to work with them as they grow and develop. Prior to working for our family she cared for a special needs child. She is not interested in a nanny share and she prefers to find a family who lives close to Metro. She would prefer to be full-time or nearly so with one family. Jessica is from El Salvador, so her native language is Spanish. But, her English is excellent. She maintains legal paperwork to remain in the U.S. She pays taxes. We handled all of the income tax withholdings for her. She is trained in CPR for infants, toddlers, and adults. Her certification is up for renewal and she would be happy to do so. You are welcome to contact me, Audrey, with any questions at nuttan@gmail.com. Jessica may be reached at 301.256.8362. She will be available on or around January 12, 2015.
