I work in a daycare in the mornings and babysit for several different families in the afternoons/evenings. I have noticed that there are three types of paying of sorts. Let's say I worked 4 hours and 45 minutes at $10 an hour (for the sake of discussion). Type 1: They'll pay me exactly for 4 hours and 45 minutes and hand me $47,50. Type 2: They'll pay me exactly for 4 hours and 45 minutes and hand me $48-50, depending on what cash they have available. Type 3: They'll pay me for 5 hours and hand me $50. Type 4: They'll pay me for 4 hours and 30 minutes and hand me $45. Have you noticed similar differences with how families tend to pay? I've very rarely come across Type 4, most people are usually generous. But one of my families who I sit for lots is very Type 1 - MB would literally ask me for a dollar change back after paying me over a hundred. And I don't think it's in any way bad, it's her money and she absolutely shouldn't pay me more than what we both agreed on, and she is always very fair and respective of my time and work, but it's just so odd to me. Nannies, is this some you can relate to?
