I understand that you were just trying to tell them that you couldn't wait around for an offer, but what they heard was that they might end up in a bidding war for you with another family (or that you were trying to manufacture one), or that they had to choose you and forego other interviews as well as possibly asking for a trial day, doing all of their background checking, etc.. They may have felt rushed.[/quote]
