I'm a nanny for three little girls. Absolutely wonderful for theost part. And only recently, the youngest had become a problem. She refuses to nap. And normally I would say maybe she's growing out of them but her mother tells me how at night it's like WWIII to get her to sleep and some mornings she'll be up first. I've tried everything! From reading an extra story, to threatening to take toys away. Nothing works! And honestly, the reason it bothers me so much isn't that she's not taking a nap, I've been noticing a trend, she's trying h to defy everything. She tries to push every button I have and I've seen her do it with her mother. I know why this is happening. There's absolutely no consistency from the parents. I've seen them NUMEROUS times give into her tantrums and wants. She'll yell and scream that she wants a toy that the oldest has already been playing with and mom will say "give her the toy so she stops screaming!" I don't know what to do! Being only the nanny I don't want to tell the parents how they should be with their children but it makes things so difficult for me when I'm with them. Some have told me to just do as the parents do if that's how they want to raise their children but I would not feel good about myself as a nanny to let go of my morals and let a child be rotten when I know it's not ok! Has anyone else ever dealt with something similar? I mean, it's to the point where if you get on to her, she'll just close her eyes and smile real big. I swear it's like she's giving me the finger and saying "I know you can't really do anything about it and I'm going to get my way!" It's so frustrasting! Especially since I watch these girls four days a week from 6am to 6pm. Any advice???
