You need someone with a spine. Willing and able to (professionally) stand up to your child. Thing is, she's likely to stand up to you to, if she's good enough for your son. Minimum $25/hr.
are you serious? The OP's child has developmental delays. He does not need a nanny who will "stand up" to him (and his mom). He needs a patient, caring, nanny with special needs experience. OP.have you checked the American University Jobs Board? some grad students in education and special ed might be available. Maybe also call Lab and other schools to see if they know of former teachers or aides who might be available....
Don't you know boundaries are ESSENTIAL? Am currently working with a SN family, and have already eliminated about a dozen of the worst behaviors. Doormat adults are the source of many of these problems, in my extensive experience. Sorry.
NP here. Sounds like you have worked with one SN child and now know everything, grow up!
My, you sound angry about something. I'm sorry about that. What's really the most incredible thing about the family, is there are two well-connected physicians in the family, so they have easy access to the very best specialists. The child was seeing several of them when I arrived. I requested a recess from all specialists, to see if I could identify the core issues, and successfully address them. The worst behaviors started to disappear within days of intense work. The family continues to be in awe of my accomplishments. The required daily work is no piece of cake, but the results are quite satisfying.
