Never EVER let the parents gang up on you. Every issue/concern needs to be addressed to you by the set of parents with the concern. They're individual bosses so make sure they understand that. No getting together with a list of things they want done different.
As a nanny who has worked in 3 different shares, I have never experienced what this PP is describing, and I never needed to lecture them on not ganging up on me. If anything, I have more authority than I did when working for one family. Both families bring there concerns to me, and it is usually me who will make a decision that both families will abide. So my advice to you OP would be to have a very thorough contract outlining: your hours what rate you expect for OT even if it is just one family that requests the extra hours guaranteed hours full control of your vacation weeks the specific holidays you will receive The general discipline strategies you will use and everyone agrees to Their plan for sharing/providing things like food, diapers, wipes How they will split any transportation and activity costs Sick policy Notice expectation, and unused vacation payout if a family leaves mid contract Good luck!
