I work a share near the area you are looking to set up your share. I think the merit of your offer depends on the caliber of nanny you are looking to hire. Yes I think you can find someone for $825/week, but I don't think they will be anything special. To give you something to compare: I have 6 years of experience, 4 of which are share experience. I am bilingual, an American Citizen, and native English speaker. My duties include child care and meal prep, and I will usually get to the host child's laundry. I am paid $850 for 45 hours, all fed holidays/snow days, 5 sick days, and 2 weeks vacation at my choosing. I would turn your job down, and I would never consider light housekeeping in a share. I don't know how large your dog is, but double strollers are difficult enough to manage, and I think the dog walking is a terrible idea. Please don't take offense to my post. I am truly trying to help. Good luck!
OP here. That's extremely helpful. Might I ask what your current weekly rate is? Also, with regards to your vacation weeks - how far in advance do you have to give notification?
My weekly rate is $850/week, so around $18/hour base. I didn't do the math on your OP either. I think your rate will be attractive, I just think you should call it $18/hour, or quote the weekly rate, because I would not appreciate interviewing for what I thought was a $20/hour job and finding out otherwise. As for my vacation, my contract requests 2 week's notice for scheduling vacation, but my employers usually know months in advanced. Most nanny jobs offer one week at the employer's discretion, but in my experience that really doesn't work in a share unless you designate that week up front (like the week of Christmas).
