So today about 10 mins before MB was due home, and when me and her 3 year old had just returned from the park, I decided to be helpful and pull their recycling bins out of the garage to the bottom of the drive way. When i was caring the second one, I tripped, I heard a "POP" from my ankle, but I figured I just twisted it. I got up okay, but it hurt really bad. I kind of just leaned against my car and waited for MB to come home as the 3 year old did side walk chalk, I let her know I fell and she suggested I go home and elevate it, so I got in my car and tried to drive, it was near impossible, my right ankle hurt so bad. I eventually made it home. Once home, I took some motrin and put some ice on it. It was swollen. After an hour of excruciating pain, I ended up in the ER. The bad news is I fractured my Fibula. I can't put any weight on it for now. I have to go see an orthopedic doctor to see if I need surgery or just a cast. But I have NO insurance! But I am paid on the table via breed love and I remember when i first started she told me that breedlove made them purchase some insurance thing. Was this workers comp? Would I be eligible for this to help cover the wages im going to lose and cover the medical bills? Im not looking to rip anyone off or anything. I just dont want to drown in medical bills and be able to pay my rent. She didnt seem so concerned when i texted her to tell her that I had broken it. She basically said "sorry to hear it, hope they gave you pain meds, let me know if you can't work, we are sleeping, ill check in in the morning." How do i bring up the fact that this occured during my working hours? I dont want to step on any toes. if it helps, im in baltimore, so i dont know what the law calls for here.
