I started a job last October, and I have totally fallen in love with the baby. The parents, though, are making me crazy. The mom is very nice, but so scatterbrained. I don't believe much of what she says, because she doesn't stick to her word. When there's any conversation, she starts on different tangents. She is gone by the time I'm here in the morning, and rarely comes home at night when I leave (even though the schedule said she would be home more often than the father.) I don't care for the father at all. He rarely speaks to me, unless I initiate the conversation. Not even a good morning when I arrive. Every morning since I have started here, I come to a living room where the shutters are closed, and the lights are off. It's always so deadly quiet that I wonder if they are all still asleep. I hate the silence. Today, the baby and I were downstairs playing, and I heard come in and race up the stairs, no hello or anything; I thought maybe he was sick, so I just let it be. I was so surprised when he came down and told me he came home to watch a game on TV. (He comes home for lunch every day, too, and I feel so awkward). He hardly ever speaks, and I'm thinking if I didn't love the baby as much as I do, I would so out of here. I had a really hard time trying to find a job, and had to take a big pay cut for this job. If I were to leave, I I know it would hard as heck to find another job.....I just dread it. I know; what they do is not my business, that I only take care of the baby and his needs, but this weirdness is making me stressed enough that I've had outbreaks on my lip. Sorry this so long, but I would welcome advice from nannies and parents.
