No it isn't fake. She was supposed to work from home but didn't. May I add I worked for 1.5 weeks of transition and 2 full days and wasn't late once. yes, I take responsibility for being late and getting sick however, I feel it was wrong to fire me for being sick. I would rather have to get back-up care( she didnt leave work) versus my nanny accidently dropping my child because she was that dizzy, light headed. He is only 3.5 months and I felt I did the safest thing for him. I gave alternative ways to stay( put him in swing for naps vs rocking) and she wouldn't allow it. Not to mention, the mom forgot to pay for 2 whole weeks and might not even pay me for this week I worked.
Each time you are forced to admit you were in the wrong, you come up wit ways the boss was more wrong than you. Quite frankly, I think you probably deserved each other. Do you know how long I've had my nanny? Almost two years. Do you know how many times she's been late? Zero. A couple of times she's arrived less early than other days, but she's never once showed up late.
