Yes, I was 20 mins late but she had the day off. We chatted the entire time. I didn't make her late at all. Also, I told her I would stay. I was only looking out for her sons safety and care. She hasn't even been grateful for anything, not even once. [/quote]

OP, you were late. It doesn't matter if she was planning to sit on her butt all day and watch TV, she asked you to be there and was paying you from a particular time and you were late on one of your very first days. Did you apologize profusely, have a legitimate excuse and let her know how you would be working to ensure that it wouldn't happen again?  Because if not, I can completely see how that would be a huge red flag on your first week. [/quote]
