Alternatively if you are willing to to work, but only if it means holiday pay, you could probably say something along the lines of "Hi MB, I do already have plans later in the day, but I would be able to come in for a few hours from 9-12. My holiday rate is $xx/hr. Let me know if that all works for you. If not have a happy Thanksgiving!" But no shame if you don't want to go in at all either.[/quote]
