I'm not an AP, and I have an ABA, so I am qualified and have experience. My charge is five years old. His kicking and hitting is few and far between now. He is improving by leaps and bounds! So happy for him and his family.

What I was getting at, and did not convey well at all, is that the child the OP is discussing does indeed need some sort of structured help.

A child who is deemed "normal" should not be doing such things. If a child with autism can be helped to understand his or her feelings, a "normal" child should be able to be helped as well. But again, I do not know this particular child's complete situation.

And I hate the word "normal".
