In our experience, a lot of countries don't have discount designer stores to the extent we do here in the U.S., and most of our APs have been enthralled with Nordstrom Rack, Century 21, Loehmann's, etc. (if you want to give a pricier gift card), and TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Ross, etc. (where they'll get more bang for their bucks).  A lot of APs come with a limited clothing supply because they plan to and are excited to go shopping when they get here.  So this could be a really nice gesture, AND she can go on an outing to a shopping area early on as a way to learn how to get places (using the metro, driving around your area, etc.).  Even our APs who are not that interested in shopping, clothing and fashion have loved Marshall's, TJ Maxx, etc. because they were just not used to being able to buy cheap clothing.  (Male AP too!)
