Have any nannies ever attended a funeral for a family member of the family you work for? I've been with my family for 3 years and MB's dad just passed away after suffering with a terminal illness. Their family lives about 3 hours away and I've been off since yesterday when she found out and they headed home. Tomorrows the funeral and I really feel like being here for the family during this time of struggle. I've met most of their extended family, they like me and I like them, we've had no issues and they're all great people. I'm at least going to send a floral arrangement for the service but would it be ok for me to go too? I'm saddened by this loss for her and the kids, and because she is a WAHM, we've spent a lot of time talking, sharing, and really had become quite close in the last few years. It's not infrequent for me to spend time with them in the evenings/weekend on my off time just spending time together. They're like my family, and I want to act on this as close family would. But is it innapproriate? Please give me opinions on this! If you think it's inappropriate for me to go, then what's the most I can do during this difficult time to show I care? Thanks!
