Be careful regarding Maryland Judiciary Case Search - one of the "anonymous" people up there hit the nail on the head - they will expunge anything, not to mention people can have things hidden just by submitting a piece of paper. Do not rely on it, have CPS do a background check too. Maryland notoriously doesn't care one bit about children. I know one person who pled guilty to molesting a boy for 8 years - from the age of 5-13 - and not only was it a misdemeanor and he did not have to register as a sex offender, but he was able to get it expunged while he was being investigated for nearly killing his infant son.
PP you are so right about Maryland! We were looking to big a home recently and started checking the sex offender registry in the city we were planning to move to, out of curiosity we checked our own neighborhood, though I never expected to see anything because we have a high school, two middle schools, a Montessori and the saucers within a 2 mile radius. Low and behold it is crawling with sex offenders. They have no living restrictions for offenders WTF! There are so many kids walking home around here, mostly in groups but still. How is it okay! ---sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread
