Yes and no.

Yes the parents should have some idea of going rates before settling down into interview territory, at which point they should ask the candidate what her normal rates are.

But no, we can't always give an accurate representation on this board. I say I make $20/hr caring for one infant (true...) and people here jump up saying I'm a liar because they make $15 - but we have different backgrounds, work history, education, professional presentation, financial considerations, extra tasks we are willing or not willing to do, etc. that can lead to an enormous differentiation in pay. The type of candidate an MB gravitates toward will be more telling of the going rates in her PREFERRED CANDIDATE POOL than the anonymous replies here.

OP, if you're still feeling a little perplexed and uncertain, my advice is to find two or three nannies you like the look of on Craigslist, Sittercity, Care.com, neighborhood listservs, whatever you're using, and inquire about their rate for infant twins. You'll have a much better sense of how much the type of nanny you're looking for (legal/illegal, native English speaker/not, driver/not, college degree/not, age, experience, professional goals, etc) will be charging by doing that.[/quote]
