You do need to apologize profusely and understand why this really was not a good thing to do. You were basically using their credit card as a back up to your own finances BUT more importantly you did something that you knew you shouldn't do but did it anyway.

If you had forgotten your credit card and didn't have one from your employer, you would have had to go back to the store. Since you had their credit card you chose your own convenience over acting responsibly. Choosing your own convenience over your job is one of those bad traits that people don't want in a nanny because that type of overall perspective leads to other bad judgement choices that affect the kids more than a credit card.
