Daughter starting preschool, looking to help our incredible nanny find her next position! RSS feed

Our daughter is coming of the age where it’s time to enroll her in school and we have the opportunity to do so this coming February 2026 so we will no longer need our nanny who we adore. This was a very hard decision for us because our nanny Kanthi has been a huge part of our life and we consider her our family. She started working with us when our daughter was 4 months old and has been a reliable, loving, and positive influence in her life. She is our daughter’s best friend and they spend the day at the local park, library, and taking stroller walks around the neighborhood. Our daughter is often asking for her on the weekends and can’t wait to see her each morning. Kanthi is very adaptable and resourceful, finding new activities for our daughter to do in the community both when we lived in Georgetown and also now that we have moved to Bethesda.

We initially found Kanthi through this forum three years ago and I remember the previous family she worked with said “if it’s even possible she loves our son more than we do.” We were looking for someone to love on our little girl as much as we do and we knew instantly Kanthi was the right person. She truly cared for her as if she was one of her own children which is all a new mother can hope for when going back to work. Kanthi is an amazing mom and nanny, she is very experienced with kids of her own who are now grown and has been working in the DC area for over 30 years. As a pediatrician myself I felt safe knowing my daughter was cared for by someone with so much experience and that she was in a nurturing loving environment. Kanthi is very dependable and a very hard worker. She was very flexible with our ever changing work schedules and was willing to come early or stay late even on short notice.

We are hoping to help her find her next family in need and can make arrangements if she is needed to start sooner than February 1st. We are more than happy to talk with any family interested in hearing more, please feel free to reach out to me (Sarah) or my husband via phone (607)759-7334 or email sxt1366@gmail.com. Kanthi can be reached directly at (202) 710-9085.

That’s such a thoughtful post. It says a lot about both your family and your nanny. She sounds like someone any family would be lucky to have. I’m sure this will help her find another great position quickly.
