I seriously doubt any Nanny receives that high of an amount for a final bonus! |

A years salary is crazy.
I think $1000 is nice. Something you can do as a family to say goodbye too, like a nice dinner somewhere. |

The nanny was paid to do the job. A bonus is whatever the employer wants it to be. |

$1K seems low for 14 years. I would say 2-3 weeks salary. |

This - though I'd probably go to the two week side. And she'd be part of many family celebrations etc... for years to come if she'd been with us for that long. |
