What services do you recommend? I didn't use a placement agency so have to do this on my own.
Thanks so much! |
We hired a local PI. |
I am not sure what area you live in.
In CA where I live, for example there is a process called "Trustline" where you can pay to have your nanny screened as well as fingerprinted. Whatever you end up doing, let me give you some money-saving advice: DO NOT obtain a background check online. I personally did & it initially raised some concerns about my nanny's past. Like a few parking tickets + arrests from a place she has never even been in!! I ran my own personal information and the results bordered on humorous. Apparently I had married someone before I was even born. Make sure you stay away from these scams OP. Good luck. |
Quite agree! Nanny here, and I'm currently fighting with a background company that said that I lived in three places at once, working in two fields for which I'm not qualified. While they were willing to take off the information about where I supposedly lived, because I could prove I was living somewhere else, they won't remove the tickets. It doesn't make sense, but whatever. |
NannyVerify.com is comprehensive and affordable.

If you're looking for payroll and/or tax help for household employment, GTM offers background checks as an additional employer benefit. We can take a complex situation and simplify the whole process for you - from helping you determine if your candidate is a good option for your family, to making it extremely easy for you to be compliant by law. |
Ditto here. These online background checks/security clearances are phony baloney. And I tried getting my money back too. Money that I know now I will never see again. Buyer Beware. ![]() |
