I worked for a Family in Washington DC NW. They didn't like to dry the bb clothes in the dryer . It's been four years since the baby were born they still hung the baby clothes to dry it.

To those who have an issue with drying rain soaked clothes in a dryer.

You guys are nuts.

Drying rain soaked clothing in a dryer will NOT cause it to get dirty.

Don't overthink this one.

OP did just fine.

Rain drops form around a speck of dirt, so yes, rain-soaked clothes are not clean. I would still put them in my dryer, but I can understand other people not wanting that.

Our nanny takes our child out to play in the rain on a hot day - great!

She takes the wet clothes off and puts on dry ones when they're home - great!

She dries the clothes in the dryer - great!

Sounds like a great day and nanny to me.

The MB is crazy.

I highly doubt either of the parties involved here would actually like to learn the laws of physics.

If it boiled down to that....Uh...That would be just cray cray.

Well, I actually learned this in grade school. It's also why your car is dirtier after it rains. The point just is that some people think of rainwater as "dirty" and might not want it in the dryer where the clean clothes go.

I happen to think that this MB is super uncomfortable having a nanny, and it has nothing to do with that, but who knows?

Just ask her Why next time. Maybe the machine is acting up, too high tech or touchy or they air dry lots of their clothes. Who cares.

High heat dryers are hell on fabrics. Tons in shrinking, thread loss and color loss.
Even high spin speed washers stretch and mishape nice clothes.
We hand wash our nice stuff for that very reason. Baby clothes are especially suspectable to shrinking.

It's weird, but every employer has their thing. I had one that would get uppity that I tried to serve the kids snack on "bread plates." Another hated when I left the sponge in the sink.

I think you handled it beautifully. At the end of the day, it is her dryer lol.

As a MB, I think the nanny just did what any common sense nanny would have done.

Had she hung the wet clothes somewhere in the house, I would have been miffed since it could stain the furniture as well as create mold in certain places.

Also, had the nanny sat around my home in her wet clothing she also would have not only gotten sick in the long run, but she also would get my carpets, rugs & furniture damp.
