Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong forum, but I didn't know where else to put this (maybe because I'm sleep deprived these days).
We are thinking of having a housekeeper come to our house 1x per week beginning in January (about 5-8 hours a week depending on the week). I'm not certain how to arrange to withhold the appropriate taxes. We are also planning to start with a nanny at the same time and I think we will be using the care.com service for the nanny's payroll. Does anyone know if I can use the care.com service for the housekeeper too? I'm trying to do everything correctly, but I don't want to over complicate things. Would it be easier just to work with an accountant? Any suggestions? Am I not thinking of something/thinking clearly about this? Thank you! |
Any payroll service can help you with your housekeeper's payroll taxes. You surely should have them done together with your nanny's because you submit all payroll on the same tax returns.
While some accountants do household payroll, most don't. Most will refer clients to household payroll services for the details. I invite you to shop HWS - we directly compete with Care.com. Happy Thanksgiving! |
