Nanny contract? Or at will employement? RSS feed

Wondering what people usually do when they hire a nanny - do you write up a formal contract or is it just considered at will employment?

I believe that even if you don't have a contract you can still use services like breedlove / intuit to pay your nanny - yes?

If you do have a contract - where can one find a sample of one?

A nanny work agreement and at will employment generally exist simultaneously - in fact they should.

The work agreement will outline the terms and conditions of employment, including compensation, benefits, taxation, duties, etc.

We have samples available for download at 4nannytaxes.com. We will have a PDF fillable version by 1/1/2015.

You can email Joseph@4nannytaxes.com if you would like a sample emailed to you, or call Joe at 800.626.4829.

1. Nannies are at will employees.
2 A written work agreement is a great way to outline hours, pay, benefits, vacations, conditions of employment etc

3. Many experienced nannies have a work agreement of their own. You shoul go over it together with in put from both sides.
Many states have specific guidelines for household employee contracts which you can find in a quick google search.
While many companies offer ready made contracts it is by no means a must use. Nannies are big business in the States keep that in mind you do not need to spend money on every seminar and package to do it right.
4. As for payroll I recommend the following
Intuit
GTM
