Would you interview her? RSS feed

I wouldn't reschedule, and I'm a very lenient person. This is just a huge red flag about her priorities/time management/potentially lying about something.

Wow. What a cynical, suspicious bunch. I have done things like this many times in my life (stopped to help a lost animal or assisted someone with car troubles, etc.) and, though I have never had to reschedule anything because of it, I can see how it could happen.
How unfortunate that you are all so quick to judge the good deeds of someone you have never met, and then to accuse her of lying on top of it.

OP-you haven't come back, so maybe you are a troll after all, but in case you aren't, I hope you didn't take all of the terrible advice doled out here. Everyone deserves a second chance. She was upfront with you and you should honor your commitment to interview, even if you don't hire her.

No. Not everyone deserves a second chance. Haven't you ever heard "you don't get a second chance to make a first impression"? Shouldn't the woman looking for a job be honoring her commitment to be at her interview on time? That was her first commitment, not the lost dog.

A hour prior to, she e-mails me to tell me that she will not make it until afternoon since she " found a dog on the road that doesn't have tags she will knock on a few doors to find the owners." It is a sweet thing but don't know how serious or reliable this lady is. I had alloted and moved things around for this interview. Would you reschedule or even consider?

Did you find her on the street? Answer is a definite no.

I don't think I'd go out of my way to reschedule. But if she contacts you again, apologetically, I might reschedule then. Everyone wants to help stray animals, but when you're on your way to a job interview that is NOT the time to do it!
