| Advice needed, FTM here! I'll likely take 8 or 9 weeks off of work, my husband will take a few weeks off after that, so let's say I'd need a nanny or a nanny share starting in October 2014. |
| If you're looking for regular full time hours, 2-3 months ahead. |
| That's helpful, thank you! |

MB here. I agree with around 2 months. Especially since that will put your search right around the time that kids are going to school (and therefore some long-term nannies will be coming available).
|
| MB, thank you. That's a good point. |

My name is Sarah and I am also due in June of 2014. I will be a FTM and will likely go back to work end of summer. Do you happen to live in the Shaw/Bloomingdale/U St area? If so, if you are open to a nanny share, would you be interested in chatting? Let me know when you can. Thanks!

Sarah, we live in Northern Virginia and are looking for a nanny share out there. Have you done any further research? Are you also looking at day care centers?
Hope all is going well! --Ellie |
| I would start now to march looking for share partners. Part of this is because you are looking to start early fall when many families make preschool decisions. For instance my family is now making decisions about the fall and interested in shares. Also other share moms are likely to want to plan ahead as well. You are more likely to get another new mom or else an established share where the existing kid is aging out if you look now and are flexible to potentially start paying for the share slot in part around Sept. |
