My charge (6mo) had a bad diaper rash, which we determined was an allergy and got rid of the wipes that were causing it. However, he still has just a little bit of the rash left, and we can't quite get rid of it. Ideas? |
Are you using ointment? I would use Triple Paste and change his diaper more frequently than usual.
I also wouldn't use a wipe if its just a wet diaper. |
Coconut oil works like a charm. Also just let him spend some time each day without a diaper on (put him on a towel), sometimes they just need to breathe! |
Are they using cloth? I second coconut oil |
Another vote for coconut oil and if he's in cloth diapers, switch to disposables for a couple of weeks to let it heal completely. |
Coconut oil is awesome - however ask the parents and have Benadryl on hand, my sister used it on my nephew and it triggered an allergic reaction. |
No Desitin, as I have been told by a pediatrcian that it can trap irritants against the skin. I'd suggest Aquaphor. |
Tripple paste and if he is in disposables, get the kind with little to no gel as that can cause a reaction too. If in cloth, strip them and change your detergent. |
Just give him a bath with cornstarch, this how we take care of our kids in Brasil |
Triple paste is magical!! |
My great-grandmother used burnt flour. Makes a mess of the pan, but it cleared up the diaper rash. |
