I don't want my kids driven in the nanny's new car. RSS feed

35 is not "a lot older" than 27. Acuras and Lexus' are both luxury cars- neither are ostentatious displays of wealth. I know plenty of middle class families who drive an Acura or a Lexus. The new car is safer, newer, more reliable, and more expensive than yours. You are jealous.

If the nanny wanted to parade your kids around town in a new Bentley or bmw convertible, your argument might make sense.

OP again it is 8 years!

Also, it isn't about it being more expensive. What about the Suzuki?

Go away. It's none of your fucking business.

8 years being "a lot older" is subjective. It's a matter of opinion. What about the Suzuki? A Lexus is safer than a Suzuki. What's your beef with your nanny? You are her employer, so of course you can tell her that you need her to drive your car instead of hers. We just think you're really weird for making such a big deal out of this.

OP, so far you have yet to say anything that makes your complaint seem like anything other than a jealous dramatic reactions to your nannies lifestyle. Is she a good nanny? Do your kids like her? That's what matters in your relationship with your nanny. Who she married, what she drives and what type of house she lives in is completely irrelevant. However, you are the employer and can tell her that you prefer her to drive the car you have. We are just confused why you would choose to do so, if not for liability reasons, if your kids could be in a safer car.

Tsisenth OP blows my mind! 8 years is NOT a LOT older! My partner and I have been together for 10 years and we are 16 years apart in age. We are PARTNERS in our relationship and age is just a number, so that judgement just makes you sound ignorant. And the fact that you are judging her on a newer safe vehicle and not wanting your children in it is RIDICULOUS! Wow.

OP is pathetic. truly.

Yeah, I got the jealous vibe from the OP as well. So what if your nanny's HHI is higher than yours, OP? True, you can hardly think of her as an "inferior" anymore, but just because your help has more money than you doesn't mean she isn't a good nanny. Because keeping your kids safe is what's most important, right?

She was driving her car. It was an Acura MDX. Now her husband went out and got her a new car (and also go them a new house to live in).

It isn't the gas and milage, it is just that I do not want my kids paraded around in that ostentatious display.

Dear God, NO! A nanny with a husband who has the amazing bad taste to be able to pay for a HOUSE, and a CAR?????

This is obviously all wrong. The societal norms have gone topsy turvy! That's not how the "Nanny Class" is supposed to live!

OP, if you hear that she's redecorating, you must FIRE HER immediately. Your children's sense of the world is at stake. All the other children in their classes will mock them if their nanny has...oh, I can hardly say it...[{(<...money to spend...>}]

I mean, some people might think that you, OP, are jealous of your nanny, since all you can afford to provide for her to drive is a 1996 Subaru. But I am sure all of us here know better. You just don't want the Help getting any ideas about being as good as you are, and that's why you're upset about this.

Love, its what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.
