Been a nanny for 9 years. Im college educated, active, creative and fun. Every day its something new and controlling. She treats me as if I dont know anything, makes me work while sick after ShE got me sick and even posted my job on a nanny site following that. I never took a day off during that time either just worked sick. I recently found they have inflated my hourly wage and put 40 hours to avoid paying 10 hours of OT. I have this in writing as well. Its been 3 months and I cant do it anymore-she is a nightmare and theres no autonomy. Her kid only has chalk and crayons and i dont feel i can do any other activities. She spies on me through her office window and if her child cries asks me what im doing wrong. I am watching her newborn as well. Shell talk to the toddler and instructs me on what to do or if i make a suggestion to the toddler like “lunch at the park or home” the mom will chime in “olive is going to have lunch at home”but then says i can do whatever I want.
Now theyre potty training their older daughter and letting her piss herself and have no method in place and expect me to sleep train the baby girl on top of that. They thought initially the naked method would work and it didn’t surprise surprise. Shes 1.5 years old. Shes not open to any input or advice and gets snippy “well i want to do it this way”. I had to correct her and tell her it was simply a suggestion should she need it.Shes weird about verbiage too not with just me but everyone like if you call her daughter “O” when her name is Olive and will say “we call her Olive lets keep it that way”or if im being silly and hike the ball under my legs to her shell be like “we dont support football in our household”. Or like ill usually clean up the sink and kitchen even though its not in the contract and shell tell me “the dishwashers full” as if im supposed to do it. She leaves her dishes now cause she knows ill clean it up. Im over it, done. Shes one of those polite professional people up close who is fake nice. How do i exit correctly?
Im not interested in staying a moment later. I have tried to convince myself I can but i cannot. I have enough savings to not work for 2 months at all. Should i pursue any recourse for the OT theyre shorting me or file an unemployment cause based on it?
