Former nk graduation gift

| A former nanny kid of mine is graduating. I just received the announcement in the mail. How much is appropriate to give them ? Do I send a check or a gift card ? I live out of state so I will be mailing the gift . What have other former Nannie’s done ? |

If you can comfortably afford to do so - - I would likely send him a check for $100.

You shouldn't send checks in the mail. It leaves you at risk of fraud. Banks and the USPS advise against it.
If you're mailing a gift card, don't put it in a regular envelope. People will feel that there's something inside and steal it. |

Were you close with the kid and invited to a graduation celebration? If so I’d send $50 check or if going to celebration I’d take card with $50 in it.
If it’s just an announcement I’d be annoyed and send nothing. |
