One-of-a-Kind Nanny Seeking New Role in the fall

Hi all,

Our second child will start school at the end of October, so after 1.5 years with our beloved nanny, we’re looking to help her find a wonderful new family to start with then.

Malar has lovingly cared for our daughter full-time and our son when he's home from pre-school. She’s warm, playful, compassionate, and deeply attentive—and both of our kids absolutely trust and adore her. She doesn’t just care for the kids—she truly looks out for them (and for us). She keeps us updated on everything from a missed nap to a hard poop to when someone just isn’t feeling quite right. She helped with potty training our son, and – without being asked – does quite a bit of light helping around the house (laundry and dishes).

Malar is always looking for something interesting and fun for the kids to do – never sitting at home, even on rainy days. She takes our daughter on fun little adventures nearly every day —whether it's outings to playgrounds, museums, library story-times, or playdates. During school breaks, she happily takes care of both our children and plans awesome trips to the zoo, waterfront, or nature walks. Malar also fosters friendships with other local nannies, building relationships that also gave our daughter a chance to start building some social skills and even friendships with similarly aged children.

Malar is also incredibly reliable and dedicated: she once came all the way in from Maryland during a snowstorm when schools were closed—because she knew we had a big work day and could use the help. She doesn’t take a lot of time off, and she offered to be flexible about longer vacations to make them overlap with ours.

Malar has been an integral part of our lives and a true blessing. While our first priority is finding her a great new family, we selfishly hope there is one in the Georgetown/Glover Park/Tenleytown area who might be open to letting us continue to have her help a few days a week after school.
