Where to find part time nanny? RSS feed

I have been searching for a PT nanny for my son to help with pick-ups at 3 pm, but have not been finding any luck. Also open to a nanny just coming on the weekends to help out. Advice on where to find? I have tried Care.com, but have found some strange people on there that I would not trust with my 2 year old.

"Help with pickups at 3 pm"-so just an hour or two of work each day, in the middle of the day?

Are you expecting the nanny to drive their own vehicle, or will you provide it?

Are you willing/able to pay a lot of money for these few hours?

Afternoon-only care is what TONS of parents are looking for, and there aren't nearly as many care-givers looking to provide it.
Most people can't make ends meet on just a few hours a day pay, so they'd have to cobble together the afternoon job with another part time job in the mornings.

You are looking for a unicorn. After school hour is what most parents need. We lucked out and found HS sitters to do this through our pool. The first one was a lifeguard and was with us her whole senior year and summer. Now a friend of hers stepped into the role and has been with us 2 years now and is staying at least thru this summer and hopefully into the fall. She’s at CC.
Look for a HS age kid at pools, check with lifeguards or family friends, listserves, local Facebook groups etc.

Above poster. We only need someone twice a week so that helps. It’s not a 5 day a week commitment.

Hello- we just moved to NW DC from Minneapolis. My son is 12 (grade 7) and my daughter is 9 (grade 4). We have a little old lady doggie!
Looking for a part time nanny to help the children get from school/ afterschool activities-help with homework and getting dinner prepared. Getting the children into a routine and walking the dog.
Hours would be from 3-6 weekdays, perhaps later into some evenings.

Above poster, do you need to drive? Or walking distance? I'd be interested if the latter. Do you have an email?
