Hello!

Our wonderful nanny, Raquel, is looking for a new nanny/nanny-share position. Raquel has been with our family full-time watching our 19 month old and occasionally our 3 year old and she’s been absolutely incredible. Our son got a spot to join his older brother in school this fall, which was always our plan, so we’re hoping to help Raquel find a wonderful next family. From the moment we met her, Raquel exuded competence and caring. She is patient, full of energy, extremely sweet and gentle with our kids, and incredibly professional. It was important to us that our son have a community of friends and exposure to other kids, so Raquel has tapped the wonderful community of nannies that she has in this neighborhood for daily park, library, or zoo outings, celebrations for birthdays and holidays, music class, and other activities that have helped my son’s development so much. She is fluent in both Spanish and English and, at our request, has spoken mostly Spanish with my son. Most of his first words are in Spanish and it’s been amazing to see how much he understands in both languages.

Raquel has close to 20 years of experience working with families and children in the DC area, including many years in Petworth. She has her AA in Early Childhood Education, is CPR certified, and has a clean driving record. Raquel has driven our kids arounds, which speaks volumes for how much we trust her!

Any family (or families) would be so very lucky to have her! She’s looking for a full-time position, with flexibility on location in the District. She’s open to a single family or a nanny share (she’s worked in both settings many times).
