Nanny vs House Keeper

We are a family of two boys moving from overseas. Arriving for the school year in August.
I want to understand the best role for additional at-home support. I work remotely from home in a busy and stressful position. Our boys are 9 and 11.
I am looking for support in the home from 3pm - 6pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. It would include potentially being available for the kids as needed but, more importantly, assisting in preparing dinner, laundry, pets, and general house upkeep. I assume this is a housekeeper in the US; however, I would love any advice on the role that would suit the position. If housekeeper, can I ask for a typical rate and what other tasks are typical in the US? Thank you in advance. The help/advice is very much appreciated.

Do you need the kids driven anywhere? I would ask for a housekeeper with driving required if you do.
Assuming the meal prep and laundry etc is everyone’s not just the kids a housekeeper is better description.
You’re probably looking at anywhere from $25-$30 and up an hour. You should also guarantee the hours.

Sounds like a house manager. A house manager attends to the children and house

You're looking for a household manager. It will be close to if not $35hr given the duties and really short hours.

Yes, I agree.

This type of job description used to be “a housekeeper who babysits” but I think the term commonly used now is a house(hold) manager.

This is def a House manager position, $35 hourly and must guaranteed the days/hours as is very hard for someone to commit to 3 hours just for 2/3 evenings.
