Older kid with Covid. What to do about nanny? RSS feed

Anonymous
Our nanny watches our baby. Our other DC who is in school full time and not her primary charge has Covid. One parent just got over Covid (so hopefully won’t get it again from DC). Do we have nanny not come until older DC is out of quarantine or is it fair to ask whether she would be comfortable coming in (and being completely clear that if she says no we won’t hold it against her)?

You have Nanny not come until your older kid tests negative or is out of quarantine. And yes you pay her.

You pay her and have her not come. If you force her to come, and she gets sick, you pay her and not charge her leave. Its not fair to ask her to come, mask and hope for the best.

Op here. We’re keeping her away until older DC can go back to school.

This sounds like the fair thing to do in this situation OP.

And if she is full-time, I would still continue to pay her since she relies on her income to pay her bills, etc.

Nanny should NOT come; why risking her? You still pay her, it’s only fair.

Thank you for this,OP. I"m glad to hear that there are people who still care about others.
