Health Isurance for nanny

Hi I am new to DC and have hired a nanny. I would like purchase health insurance for her. Does anyone have any recommendations or idea of the monthly cost? I have searched the forum but some of the information seems a little out of date. Thanks!

Ask her if she already has health insurance.

Have the nanny purchase her own health care in the marketplace, then you can decide how much of the cost you want to reimburse for her.

Health care is personal and you don't want to be in the business of knowing her personal health status or issues.

I think it depends on the nanny's age, etc but we give our nanny a $350/month stipend and I believe she is able to buy something within this limit (we told her should could purchase what she wanted on the exchange but the reimbursement would be capped at $250/ month. She seems happy with it. She is also 27, has no kids or dependents, is single, and in pretty good health. So not sure how those factors affect her ability to get decently priced insurance.

I work for FT for a family in Bethesda, they pay my monthly premium which is about $425 this isn’t included in payroll.

The norm is $350-$450

marketplace does not ask about your health or any conditions, so even if you see how much subsidy she got, there is nothing about health status

Most nannies get their insurance via the government marketplace and the employer can send in the premium payment.
