How much appreciation bonus we should pay our nanny which has been working for us 7 years? |
$500 per year so $3500 which should be about 2-3 weeks gross pay. |
Um, no to the multi-thousands.
Is this an annual bonus or a parting bonus? Annually I usually gave one weeks pay - in cash. Parting bonus was much bigger. |
Ummm yes … she said the nanny has been there for 7 years. So 3k doesn’t seem off . |
+1 |
Which? How about recognizing her as a human being WHO has worked for you for 7 years? For a parting bonus 7 months pay or, ideally, a year's pay. |
$1k/year of service! |
A year’s pay? ROLF! |
Seven years is a long time and a year's appreciation bonus for taking care of your most precious possession is nothing. Seven years of knowing your children were safe and loved because the nanny allowed you to work and not worry about your children Worth her weight in gold. |
I hear you but who has fifty grand sitting around to give to your nanny?! Seriously, I’m in the tax industry and I see a lot of high net worth individuals’ finances, and this just isn’t a thing. |
a month would be generous, 2 weeks is great too! |
OP, I gave roughly one week's pay annually as a bonus at the holidays. I often also would get little gift cards for dinners or mani/pedis or whatever during the year.
When our nanny of 7 years left us (kids finally all aged out) we gave a parting gift of several thousand dollars. |
^ that sounds reasonable. |
Respectfully, STFU you're way off base. |
2–4 weeks salary. |
