We are going to Australia for two week vacation my nanny does not want to come. Though it’s not mandatory for her to travel with us and it’s not in her contract we would like her to come to help with kids. Should I fire her for declining?
It’s not mandatory. You gave her a choice and she declined. If you force the issue, she may quit. Why are you so focused on having her with you? You can hire a sitter there, or I am sure that there is some childcare available.
Yes, she deserves to work for a better employer. Why can/t you take care of your own kids on vacation?
I’ll go !
You are nuts. Don’t be so lazy. This is your opportunity to reconnect with your children as a family. |
If it’s not in her contract she doesn’t have to . Make it make sense?!
No don’t fire her! Some people don’t like traveling, some people have obligations at home, etc etc. Unless you are not happy with her in general and just looking for an excuse to fire her, or unless travel is an agreed to part of this job, this should not be a dealbreaker.
OP here she’s actually great with the kids. I just want to read and have some me time. I’m not looking to replace her but she should understand it’s her job to tag along if asked because we are paying her
Dumb! Why would you fire the nanny if it is NOT in the contract? Some Nannies don’t like and won’t agree to travel while family is on family vacation. This is absurd! You ought to pay her the days that you’re away, BTW. |
It’s NOT her job to tag along while you’re vacationing out of the country. Absolutely NOT. Read it again, NO. She doesn’t want to and it isn’t in her contract Keep pushing your nanny to go and by the time you return she’d be gone. It’s unfair and against her will. |
This must be a troll
Definitely a troll loll
Come on guys, stop falling for trolls
How much are you paying her? Hopefully her rate for 24 hours a day.
Lol I fell for the troll! The follow up OP post gave it away.
