Updated rates for babysitting by daycare teachers RSS feed

We haven’t been going out much, and have local family who usually watch our girls. We’d like to start reaching out to some of the former daycare providers (center-based) who have occasionally babysat for my two daughters in the past. They are now ages 9 and 6 (easygoing and get along well). I want to make sure I’m paying them “post-COVID rates” that acknowledge their skills and special connection with my kids. Is $25/hour for a few hours (about 3 hours for a local dinner) OK? (Do I need to tip?) I also usually ask what dinner they want from Wegmans ahead of time in case they don’t like pizza.

Thank you, I’ve been out of the babysitting game for a while, clearly!

You ask, they let you know if they're available, they give you their rate, you either move or or agree to a time.
