Audio recording in strollers RSS feed

I just wanted to give other nannies free game. The parents is hiding audio recordings in strollers. I feel like this is not talked about, Always work like they are watching and listening to you it’s SAD but true. I actually found mine and put it right back like I was stupid and didn’t know. It’s also sad because your parents will be all in your face saying your the best nanny we ever had but listening to you 24/7 honestly if you have that much time on your hands you should consider going back into the office or putting your child in daycare or watching them YOURSELF. Idk if it’s illegal or not but it’s being done so BEWARE!

When DCUM doesn't like what is posted, OP of that thread is attacked by the grammar Nazis. I believe OP and I am not a nanny.

OP, it's a nanny market and you should find another job very easily. I would have just tossed it in the closest trash can.

It's illegal, because while one party recording is legal, the person who is recording the conversation/actions is not present. If you were told it was there, it would be legal because you'd know about the recording.

States have different rules about this. Some are one-party, and some require both parties. A blanket statement like the one you made, PP, is incorrect.

One party recording is legal, but it has to be one adult party present at the time.

It has nothing to do with grammar. I’m calling troll for other reasons.

I'm in shock reading this post. Please could you tell us how this recording looks like? Sorry... call me naive; but I have never heard such a thing; besides hiding cameras. Is that looks like a cheap or so? How can a nanny can find this in the stroller and know that is a audio recording? So nannies can talk upfront about this with the parents. Read this is very dissapointing and lack of trust.
OP, you should be looking for a new Job; they don't deserve to have you. Market is big now. Good luck.

Having said that, I'm all for recording the audio and with my knowledge and consent, the recording is legal.

I have nothing to hide from my employer. Most audio recording devices are self contained with a removable drive, so they can't be hacked while we're out and about. And if it makes my employer feel better, I don't mind.

They can use recordings of you any way they want,
unless you require some limits in the contract.
