Do you get a review? A raise? An acknowledgment? i have never worked somewhere where there was simply nothing…

If it’s important to you. Just tell them it’s your one year anniversary and will like a review and a bonus

Not all employers give reviews or raises at a year. They should but they don’t. You need to ask for both.

Yeah I am a nanny of over ten years and you might just have to say something. Some are clueless and some just don’t care. I got one raise in 3 years.

Really? Most employers don't give a yearly raise or give you a party.

You call a review a party?

Employers should (at least) give a cost of living raise every year.

Ask for it, OP. Our nanny gets a COL and merit increase every year. It’s in her contract.

I’ve never had it acknowledged ever.

Most jobs don't give an annual cola. It may not be in her contract.

Nobody cares

We always do one-year contracts, so near the end of the year we discuss things and agree upon a raise.

You’re right. Nobody cares about you, PP. Sad but true.
