Has anyone worked with this nanny placement agency?
I applied for a nanny job through their agency. They asked for references which I was happy to share.

Now I feel awful because they used my references to try and sell their nanny services. It also appears that the job I applied for does not actually exist.

Has anyone else worked with the agency? What a bummer!

That’s a scam, OP. I’d report the to the BBB.

Ugh, I feel so stupid.

I am trying to make the transition from teaching back to nannying. I hate that I set up my refferences.

Never share your references with anyone in advance. Until you have been interviewed already and you really like the potential family and are really interested in the position.

Set yourself up on care.com with a great profile and go with legitimate agencies.

Everyone wants a former teacher for a nanny! You will have no problem finding a job.

That’s a really awful name for a nanny agency!

Did you meet with the agency, the pink people, in person? If not - that’s your mistake. We all make mistakes.

Do your research before contacting an agency, OP.

I know they aren’t a scam. I know the owner professionally. However, I do agree some of their practices are odd. For example: if they start to follow you on Instagram, they will literally try and add every single person you follow…it’s odd.

Interesting…
So another hold up they had with me was that I simply don’t have/use social media. My husband and I dumped off a few years ago. And they were very bothered by this.

I also thought something was suspect as they do not have a google page or reviews. Then every single review they have on facebook is from a nanny. I couldn't understand how they don't have a single client review on any platform.

This is disappointing. I am using them in Ohio to find a nanny. I have been using them a month and only been sent two candidates - I'm not sure how normal that is.

The agency we used sent 4 candidates the day after our intake call. That sounds frustrating but I have no idea what the nanny market is in Ohio.

Pink Nannies is not a scam and is one of the most reputable nanny agencies in Ohio and DC. I encourage you to check them out for yourself. They have a very strict policy and will not work with everyone. They vet families and Nannies. I was placed by them and it’s the highest paying job of my careeer and my unicorn family.

Then why would they call a nanny's references to try to sell them on the agency's services?
