Rate for 2 kids for 2-3 hours only

We need a babysitter to watch two kids (2.5 years old and 6.5 years old) in our house occasionally for 2-3 hours when my husband and I need to go to social event. We found someone who is willing to help. What would be a reasonable rate? I understand I may need to pay a bit more since it’s just a few hours.

How old is the babysitter and what’s his/her experience?

Most sitters have their own rate. It’s not really something you decide. Ask them when you interview them.

Many sitters have a 4 hours minimum for booking them at $20-25hr

If you would need only 2 hrs. It would be like $26+.

$20 an hour with the assumption being it’s on the evening. You can get a HS age sitter. If you need immediately after school it might be more. I pay $15 an hour to a 17yo for my one 9yo twice a week for 3 hours each time.
