NF new cleaning products massive migraine trigger RSS feed

I’m debating whether or not I should address this with NF.

They switched to a different household cleaning line that’s eucalyptus based. For whatever reason, for me entire life eucalyptus has triggered severe migraines. Not usually any issue unless I’m at the koala section at the zoo or someone is diffusing eucalyptus essential oils.

I have terrible migraines that are managed with medication, except for these. I don’t understand it, but it’s my kryptonite.

Housekeepers come twice a week and I try to be out of the house but we’re still COVID cautious so not as plausible depending on weather. I actually had to go home yesterday because the migraine was causing so many issues (extreme nausea, blurred vision, dizziness and confusion.). NF seemed worried and I don’t want this to be a habit. Debating just letting them know it’s the new cleaning products and hope they switch to something else.

Is this reasonable?

Just tell your employers. My employers know any vanilla scent triggers headaches for me and they stopped using them.

Just talk to your employers and let them know. It also can be the change of season/weather as well. Maybe its time to also change medications. I get bad reactions from scents so I limit going into other people's homes and some businesses.

Yikes - absolutely talk w/ your employers. This seems like an easy thing to change. (I would absolutely want to know and would make the switch immediately. I don't want you going home sick because of something so trivial.)

This is an obvious question. No need to make a big deal. There is nothing wrong to tell your NF; that eucalyptus smell makes you feel sick and you need to feel great to do your job. They won't make such a big drama with is. They will change their products soon.
