Where to find candidates to help w/ cooking/meal prep RSS feed

This may be a stupid question, but can anyone point me to resources for finding candidates who could help cook meals for our family in our home part time 2-5 days per week? We're not looking for a chef, just a person who is a good cook. It doesn't seem like care.com has that, exactly--just housekeeping and babysitters/nannies, some of whom are willing to do meal prep. We'd be happy to have the person do some cleaning as well, if they'd like additional hours, but we'd be ok with someone who just cooks. We could order groceries.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Why do you say you are not looking for a chef? Because it sounds like that is what you are looking for.

I googled "Chef to cook meals in your home" and results come up.
Here is one https://weeklymealprep.com/washington-dc/
*I'm not necessarily vouching for this company--I have no experience with them. It's just an example of what's out there, that sounds like what you are looking for*

I don't think that I can afford a chef...but we're also very happy to just eat good food cooked by a good home cook.

Advertise for a cook. Or use a domestic help agency.

I am not sure.

Do you have any domestic agencies in your area that employs cooks??

You could always try using Craigslist - but that may be kinda risky.

Good luck!

If you're only looking for a few hours of cooking per week, advertise for a personal chef through an agency. If you want grocery shopping and other tasks, advertise for a housekeeper who cooks in the housekeeper section of the forum and through an agency.

Parents, we needs to understand that nannies are not there to do meal prep, cooking for the family or even do “light housekeeping". Their jobs is to care for our children. Having them doing those tasks requires extra money.Let’s face it. When we want our house clean we pay our cleaner services! When we want our meals 3-5 times a week we pay for a chef or a food services easily full salary / charger. Therefore; when we want our nannies do to such a things; we need to pay them accordingly. You will found a lot and the right nanny willing to do all of the above if paid accordingly.

Hello OP, have you found your dream cook? I am curious what dishes are popular among those folks who hire cooks. I am picturing a pot of hearty chicken lentil soup and a tray of baked veggies. Is this something that would inspire potential employer to hire me? Or do people require more sophisticated meals? I will be in the market for a cook job in about 2 months.

A long time ago I advertised on Craigslist because I wanted to learn Peruvian cooking. You could try that. There are websites that hire day workers and perhaps they could pair you up with their wife/ girlfriend etc. when we were in Miami it was easier to find this. Good luck
