Just curious if you can tell me the going rate for a non-driving, high school aged after school sitter for NW DC? Thanks.

Try posting in the tween/teen section or childcare other than daycare/preschool. Both are on the parent side of the forum.

How many kids?
What responsibilities will she have?
Will the kids be asleep? Fed? Bathed?

After school implies after school. So I would think not bathed and in bed. That was a weird question PP. OP I would say $12-$15 for a non driving HS sitter.

Thanks for being an ass, PP. after school sitter could also easily be a date night sitter. We don't know the ages of the child(ren)

minimum wage in DC is $15.20/hr. I would not pay a penny less than this.

The sitter can decide she'd rather get a job at Chick Fil A where she'd have some fun co-workers her own age.

as a high school I would have my her rather babysat then work in fast food. Our neighbors daughter works at chick fil a, she find out each weeks schedule the Saturday before. It sucks.

$20 an hour with guaranteed hours (meaning if you need her M-F from 3 to 5 you pay her when you’re on vacation or don’t need her one day). And paid legal holidays.

Everyone wants a babysitter for those hours so you must be very competitive to keep her.

$20/hour is NOT competitive!
