Just wondering, Nannies who don't own a car or drive how will you get to work ? All employers now want nannies to have their own transportation. |
My husband works from home, so he takes me. |
Do you mean that they are asking for you to drive their kids with your Own car? Or you mean that they will not be providing their car to work anymore to drive their kids? Or you mean that now due to the COVID they requiere a nanny to own a car since they don't want the nanny it will be exposed to public Transportation? |
Most employers don’t want a nanny to use mass transit, but there are still options.
Uber with windows down Carpool with the same person every time Dropped off/pick from relative or friend Walking, biking Vespa Motorized scooter Just because a nanny doesn’t have a car doesn’t mean she has to take mass transit. |
Her partner drives her and picks her up. We have also given her rides when needed. |
|
No, due to Covid they want you to have your own car. |

I know a nanny who lives in Maryland and works in DC. I use to see her on the metro. She doesn't drive, this is why I'm asking. Nothing wrong with riding the metro. |
One isn't going to ride a bike from Maryland to DC
Better yet Maryland to Takoma Park, Bethesda, Potomac etc. |
In the real life, is like that: 1. Nannies will find hard finding someone who wants give them a ride daily according to their work schedule. 2. They won't be willing to be spending in Uber rides daily 3. Their relatives or friends has also a Job probably no very close to them. 4. Some lazy nannies are very lazy to walk and probably some don't even know how to biking.. 5. Scooter? Are you kidding lol. I can not really picture this a Nanny who want to go with a scooter to work... |
lol lol lol |
Illegal How you get to work is your business |
Not illegal— if you’re taking the metro to work you’re exposing the child to whoever else was on the red line that morning. “Takes the metro” is not a protected class of people against whom it is illegal to discriminate. |
