Our Au Pair has had a rough time with her teeth. The dentist that our LCC recommended doesn't do surgical procedures so we switched her to our dentist for a tooth abstraction but now she has much more work that needs to be done and our dentist seems expensive. I don't want to send her to a school and want to make sure she's getting good care. We're expecting to continue to help pay for all of her bills but this was not an expense that we were expecting this month. Would love any advise. |
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a dental school - that's where a lot of US students get dental care. Our AP needed wisdom teeth surgery - but the schools were closed during COVID, so we found a free mobile dental van (there are several in DC/Montgomery County) and she got it done there. |

Well, here is a thing that I've learned during the pandemic. It doesn't matter what hurts and how bad, you have to go to see a doctor. Even if you have to take a Covid test first, you go and see a doctor. I went here last time for AP in case this helps. https://thehealthysmile.net/dental-services/implant-dentistry-bay-village-ohio/ Don't wait for YOUR doctor; I'm sure that there are plenty of dentists that know their job and take good care of all patients. In any case, don't procrastinate the visit! |
Yep, i've been there. i've done that! at least now we have the vaccine |
Have your AP poll her network - my Polish AP found a dentist in a Polish community in a nearby state (NJ) who was had a sliding scale approach that made the extensive work she needed feasible. We paid half, BTW. |
