Would you have your nanny continue to come if her husband and daughter are still working? RSS feed

They are working in high traffic places. We have two high professional jobs are don’t know how to make this work without a nanny.

Is there any way you can make your work from home schedules work without her there? If so, I'd probably do that. If it's really not possible, however, then you just have to accept that there's some risk. You could also inquire about what measures her husband and daughter's workplaces are taking to protect employees still working.

What would you want them to do quit? You aren't being realistic to expect the husband/daughter not to work. You ether need to make it work without her or have her come. Since you are "high professional jobs" that you're wanting to brag about, sounds like its not a choice.

You nanny should change clothes (change into scrubs or some outfit she keeps at your house) and wash her hands for 30 full seconds when she gets to your house. Leave her shoes outside. Follow all best practices protocols (cleaning surfaces and door knobs frequency, hand washing frequently, cough or sneeze into elbow) and stay away from any other people. Backyard play only and just your kids.

Millions of nurses, doctors, techs and orderlies go home to their families every night. It’s not ideal that your nanny lives with other people but it is what it is.

Sure. Have your nanny do the “best practices” listed above. AND that your nanny is not taking public transportation.

I do take all this very seriously and follow all guidelines but the bottom line is that people must work.

Where did OP ever suggest that her nanny's family members should quit their jobs? Simmer down.

Then, what's the point of the post? Either she continues to pay the nanny and the nanny not work or other relatives have to quit their jobs and OP can make up their income so they don't have to work.

There are other options, PP, as suggested above (nanny changed clothes post).

Everyone needs to take a breath and get off both the immediate offense or defense. This situation is a first for all of us.
