Nanny Family moving

| My current nanny family will be moving 25 miles away. The mom has expressed that she really wants to keep me. She said I would get a raise when they move. What do you think is a good about for a raise since that’s 50 miles a day? I currently travel 3 miles a day now. |

This is in perfect traffic. I would not accept. Too far and the raise is probably minimal. If she goes to $10 more an hour, then I might accept. Personally, I hate sitting in traffic. |

| Commuting is hell. However I did it once because I loved the child. I ended up getting fired after three years but am still glad I made the sacrifice for my former charge. |

Just like any job, you need to weigh the options. Can you find a new job in your current location easily?
I personally hate commuting, so if I could find a new job closer, that is what I would do. |
